Wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) is a tokenized version of staked Ether (stETH) provided by Lido Finance. It represents stETH in a fully ERC‑20 compatible format, enabling DeFi users to use staked ETH as collateral, trade it, or integrate it into smart contracts while retaining staking rewards. Unlike stETH, which accrues staking rewards as a growing balance, wstETH has a fixed balance that increases in value over time to reflect accrued staking rewards.
